Painted by local artist Ashtyn Brugger, the mural on the side of the Yellowstone Tavern captures both the spirit of eastern Montana and the family behind the business. Set against the wide plains and the flowing Yellowstone River, the scene shows a boat carrying the tavern owners and their daughter—an image rooted in life along the river. Above them, a plane flown by their son cuts across the open sky, symbolizing freedom and his deep connection to aviation. At the center, raised mugs celebrate community, storytelling, and coming together—core values of the Yellowstone Tavern and of Miles City itself.
