About

The Tongue River Winery trail is a pathway that connects the Dike Road walkway to the winery south of I-94. The trail is clearly visible up until the Golf course where it fades out and is virtually nonexistent until shortly before the winery in which it follows a two track the last stretch. From Dike Road near Tedesco Field, the trail crosses Pacific Ave and the railroad tracks passing by the Riverview Apartments. The trail then continues behind the adjacent houses. There is a small pathway immediately behind them, as well as a two track that extends as a farther pathway following the river. The pathway immediately behind the houses cuts very close in parts, so taking the extended two track (adds about 0.2 mi) is the better, more considerate route. The trail proceeds to cut farther behind some houses, and then cut closely behind the golf course repair shop. After passing the repair shop, following a two track will lead to a set of splits. Taking the right split for both, the trail will continue down to the bank of the river. From this point, the trail fades out and a designated path is not visible. However, the area near the bank of the river is navigable and can be walked without bushwhacking. This will continue until reaching the interstate in which a path can be taken going under. Walking without a trail will continue for a short while before meeting up with a two track that will lead to the winery. Below is the measurement summary: Dike Road to Riverview Apartments: 0.20 mi Path following immediately behind houses (from Riverview): 0.29mi Recommended long path behind houses (from Riverview): 0.5 mi Houses to repair shop: 0.13 mi Repair shop to first split: 0.15 mi First split to second split: 0.18 mi Second split to freeway: 0.6 mi Freeway to winery: 0.45 mi Total: 2.2 mi
